Olympos

Info
Country: Turkey
GPS:
Rating: 3.6429
Type: Sport climbing (Lead)
Material: Limestone
Description:

There are over 300 routes on perfect limestone rock across all grades. The rock climbing has slabs with small pockets that require technical moves and lots of balance through to tufas and huge roofs. Some of the crags also have the advantage of only being a few hundred metres from the beach. This area also has several walls that are suitable for deep water soloing (DWS) with the sea being deep enough to attempt routes from 8 to 20m long. The only down side is that these walls can only be approached by boat.

The best season for climbing is from mid-September until June. The rainy season is from the end of December until the end of January.

Approach:

Follow the Kemer signs from Antalya to the west. After you pass the Akyarlar and Cam Dagi passes, you reach Kemer. Continue west and pass Camyuva and Tekirova, turn left on the Olympos Cavuskoy sign ans reach Olympos always following left. The distance between Antalya and Olympos is 85 km.
